Summary
People with moderate to severe cases of dry eyes syndrome are very uncomfortable in many cases. They have nearly constant pain, irritation, gritty or sandy sensation, redness, watering from their inflamed eyes, blurred vision, and the feeling of something in their eyes. Reading, watching TV, and driving a car can become difficult or impossible secondary to their eyes becoming more irritated. When they stare or concentrate on what they are looking at, they decrease their blinking and their eyes dry out further. Many of these people have tried numerous different treatments to relieve their symptoms with limited success. Dry eye syndrome is a chronic progressive eye disease that has a significant impact on society in the United States as well as around the world.
Teenage kids are coming to eye doctors with the complaint of irritated eyes. Many of them are spending hours at a time playing games or texting on their smartphones, iPads, or computers. While they are doing this their blinking rate is dramatically diminished and their eyes begin to dry out. They are not going to miss one laser blast, bomb, or other action. As the eyes dry out, the salt levels in their tear film begins to rise as the amount of the liquid layer in their tear film diminishes. This increased salt level or sodium level causes inflammation to the cells on the surface of the eyes which leads to progression of the dry eye disease. Just like there are no fish in the Dead Sea, your body and eyes do not tolerate elevated salt levels. The salt level on the surface of the eye is not related to the salt levels in your body or blood stream. If left untreated, the dry eye disease will progress over time.
The annual medical cost of treating dry eye syndrome in the United States is 750 to 1,000 dollars per year per person. That makes the overall medical cost of dry eye syndrome in the United States at around 4 billion dollars per year. Dry eye disease has a substantial economic burden in the United States with indirect costs making up the largest portion of the overall costs secondary to a large loss of work productivity. This makes the overall costs from a societal perspective to approximately 55 billion dollars per year. Dry eye syndrome has a substantial economic burden in the United States with the indirect costs making up the largest portion of the overall costs secondary to loss of work productivity. In addition, dry eye disease has a significant negative impact on the physical and psychological health on the people suffering from dry eye syndrome.
Regener-Eyes is a new useful treatment for people with dry eye diseases. Regener-Eyes is a safe and sterile solution that is fully compliant with FDA regulations.
